KEARNEY, Neb. – Freshman Louise Cocking continued her impressive first season with the Hutchinson Community College women's cross country team on Friday at the Nebraska-Kearney Invitational.

Cocking posted the third-fastest 5,000-meter time in Blue Dragon history in a fourth-place individual finish at Meadowlark Hills Country Club. The Freshman also helped the No. 8-ranked Blue Dragons to a third-team team finish in the final regular-season tune-up before the Region VI Championships on October 28.

Cocking led the Blue Dragons with a season's-best time of 19 minutes, 9.3 seconds, which was 24.4 seconds off the winning pace of UNK's Maddie Bach (18:44.9).

Cocking jumped up two spots to No. 3 on the all-time Blue Dragon women's cross country list. Cocking now trails only Lisayo Ewoi (18:29.1) and Ruth Limo (18:50.0) on that list.

Nebraska-Kearney, an NCAA Division II program, edged NJCAA No. 3 Cloud County 31-35 for the team title. No. 8 Hutchinson was third with 72 points and No. 7 Dodge City was fourth with 83 points.

The Blue Dragons had two runners finish in the Top 10 and three in the Top 20.

Sophomore Sheila Too was eighth overall with a time of 19:33.6. Sophomore Megan Miller was 20th with a time of 21:23.6. Right behind Miller was freshman Noel Hidalgo, who was 21st in a time of 21:58.7. Freshman Jurney Yung was 24th in a time of 22:51.9.
