CHANUTE – Freshman Hadlie Lowe continued her late-season tear as the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team scored a season high in goals for the second-straight game on Saturday against Neosho County.

Lowe tied a Blue Dragon single-season record for game-winning goals and the Blue Dragons secured their 17th consecutive winning season after a 6-0 victory over the Panthers at Chanute High School.

Hutchinson completes the regular season 8-5-1 and finishes third in the Jayhawk West at 7-5-1. The Blue Dragons have never had a losing season in program history, which dates back to 2005.

Unofficially, the Blue Dragons will travel to Coffeyville for the opening round of the Region VI Tournament on Sunday, October 31. Officially pairings will be announced early next week.

Lowe scored the first three goals of the game, notching her eighth game-winning goal of the season. Lowe ties Melissa Hetherington (2011) for the Blue Dragon single-season and freshman record for game-winning goals.

Lowe had three goals and an assist for her second-straight seven-point game. Her fourth hat trick of the season tied five others on the single-season hat trick list. Over her last six games, Lowe has accounted for 13 goals and two assists (28 points).

Freshman midfielder Aimee Maher had a career-high five points with two goals and an assist. Maher had three goals and three assists in her last two games.

The Blue Dragons blew open a one-goal lead with four goals over a 12-minute span late in the first half to post their largest single offensive half of the season.

Lowe's first goal game just 4:48 into the opening half when she took a long Julie De Souza pass down the middle of the field and rifled a shot into the goal for a 1-0 lead.

The Blue Dragons dominated possession, but finally got on a goal-scoring role with 20:12 to go in the half when Lowe brought down a lobbed pass from Chiara Stuenkel in the box and scored for a 2-0 lead.

Lowe's third goal 3:28 leader was from a Jordan Crone assist.

Maher then scored her goals late in the opening half or a 5-0 lead. Ella-Mae Miller and Lowe were credited with assists on Maher's goals.

The only goal of the second half came from freshman D'Naeya Gray, who scored her first goal of the season from a Danica Lotter assist.

The Blue Dragons out-shot Neosho County 25-2. Olivia Felix-Cardona played the first half in goal for Hutchinson and had one save. Aspen Apfel played in the second half and had a save.

The Blue Dragons won their 13th-straight game over Neosho County and are 13-2 all-time against the Panthers. Hutch had its third-straight shutout of the Panthers and have shut out the Panthers in 10 of the last 11 games played.
