Hutchinson CC Sports Information
A total of 10 Hutchinson Community College women's soccer players earned spots on the 2018 Jayhawk West all-league teams, which were released on Monday.
The Blue Dragons had six first-team selections and four second-team picks after a 13-3-1 season in 2018.
Forward Brailey Moeder, midfielders Naomi Waithira and Ashley Venegas, defenders Hailey Burke and Jenna Boese and goalkeeper Taylor Camp were named to the first team. Forwards Addi White, Sydney Blackwell and Megan Maslak and midfielder Kaitlyn Sabala were second-team selections.
Three Hutchinson sophomores were named to the all-conference team for the second-straight seasons. Both Moeder and Burke were named to the first team for the second-straight year and Sabala was named second team for a second-straight seasons.

BRAILEY MOEDER – 1st team (sophomore, Hutchinson, KS)
Moeder was Hutchinson's leading scorer with 41 points and tied for the team lead with 14 goals. She was second on the team with 13 assists. Moeder connected on all three of her penalty kick attempts this season. She had two hat tricks with three goals each against North Iowa Area and Cloud County, where she achieved that hat trick in a school-record 5 minutes, 4 seconds.
NAOMI WAITHIRA – 1st team (sophomore, Nairobi, Kenya)
Waithira wound up being the Blue Dragon leader in assists with 15. She also had four goals for 23 total points this season. Waithira had four multi-assist games which a season-high three against Northwest Tech on September 29.
ASHLEY VENEGAS – 1st team (freshman, Odessa, TX)
Once injuries started to take their toll on the Blue Dragon front line this season, Venegas became another scoring option. She finished with a team-high-tying 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points. Venegas had a stretch of scoring goals in 8 of 9 games where she had 10 goals and 26 points. She had a two-goal, three-assist game against Hesston on October 10.
HAILEY BURKE – 1st team (sophomore, Topeka, KS)
Burke was solid performance on the best defensive team in the Jayhawk in 2018. Hutch allowed just 17 goals this season. Burke also played a key role on Blue Dragon set pieces where she connected on two headers for goals and had one assist this season.
JENNA BOESE – 1st team (freshman, Wichita, KS)
Boese was able to defend some of the top offensive threats in the league this season on the outside. She was a mainstay on a back line that allowed just 17 goals and posted 10 shutouts this season. Boese had no goals and one assist in her freshman season.
TAYLOR CAMP – 1st team (freshman, Waxahachie, TX)
Camp posted a record of 12-3-1 in her freshman season with nine shutouts. She had 46 saves and a goals-against average of 1.05 in 1,460 total minutes played. She had a save percentage of .730. Some of her best saves this season came in a 4-3 come-from-behind win at Cloud County where after Hutch took the lead with 10:29 to play, Camp stopped 1 of 2 penalty kicks and faced several other direct free kicks from dangerous areas just outside the penalty box to preserve the victory.
ADDI WHITE – 2nd team (freshman, Hutchinson, KS)
White played in 14 games and finished with six goals and two assists (14 points). She had a two-goal game against North Iowa Area on September 1.
SYDNEY BLACKWELL – 2nd team (freshman, Wichita, KS)
Blackwell scored nine goals and six assists in her freshman season, including four game-winning goals. Her high-point game was five in her Blue Dragon debut on August 22 against Northeast Nebraska where she had two goals and an assist. She had a two-goal game against Pratt on October 17.
MEGAN MASLAK – 2nd team (sophomore, Deal, England)
For a second-straight season, injuries slowed what could have been a tremendous year for Maslak. She started the season with a four-goal, nine-point game against Northeast Nebraska on August 22 and then had two-goal games in her next two to lead the nation in scoring. But an injury against Garden City cost Maslak 11 games. She finished with nine goals and three assists (21 points).
KAITLYN SABALA – 2nd team (sophomore, Towanda, KS)
Sabala made a huge jump in terms of performance from her freshman to sophomore season. A leader on the field, Sabala finished with four goals and four assists this season. She had a three-point game with a goal and an assist against Garden City on September 12. She scored critical insurance goals late in games against Pratt on September 22 and October 17.
