Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Because of wet and unplayable field conditions at the Salthawk Sports Complex, the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team's scheduled Wednesday home match against Hesston College has been moved.

The game will now be played on a neutral site at Buhler High School's football stadium in Buhler. The kickoff will also be pushed back one hour to 7 p.m.

The game will still be streamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network beginning at 6:55 p.m.

After more than 6 inches of rain the Hutchinson area has picked up since last Friday, the natural grass playing surface at the Salthawk Sports Complex is completely saturated. Buhler's football field is a turf surface. With the 2018 regular season winding down to a couple of weeks, there were few make-up dates remaining.

Wednesday's forecast calls for sunny, dry conditions with temperatures in the high 50s by kickoff.

The Blue Dragons go in search in victory No. 10, which would mark the 14th-straight season that Hutchinson has at least 10 wins in a game.

Wednesday's matchup is the second between the Blue Dragons and Larks this season. Hutchinson defeated Hesston 4-1 on September 15 in Hesston.

Brailey Moeder, Naomi Waithira, Ashley Venegas and Addi White scored goals in the first meeting. The margin of victory could have been much worse if it weren't for several point-blank saves by Hesston goalkeeper Vivi Rodriguez, who had 14 saves in the game.

Venegas is now Hutchinson's top goal scorer with 11 goals. Moeder has eight goals. Waithira has a team-high 12 assists and Moeder has 11 assists.
