The No. 18-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team finds itself in a late-season slump, but still right in the thick of the Jayhawk West title chase.

The Blue Dragons aim to rebound from their first loss of the 2017 season on Saturday when the Garden City Broncbusters come to the Salthawk Sports Complex for a 3 p.m. Jayhawk West battle.

Hutch's first loss of the season came in a shocking 4-0 loss to Northwest Tech on Wednesday. After starting the season 10-0 with nine shutouts, the Blue Dragons are 1-1-1 in their last three games with five goals allowed.

Now 11-1-1 overall, the Blue Dragons are 6-1-1 (19 points) and are in second place in the Jayhawk West behind Cloud County. The Thunderbirds are 8-2 (24 points) in the league with two games remaining. Both of those games are against Hutchinson. The Dragons have four conference games remaining and a possible total of 12 points. Regardless of what Northwest Tech does, if the Blue Dragons win all four remaining league contests, they would repeat as Jayhawk West champions.

Saturday will be the second meeting between the Blue Dragons and Broncbusters. Hutchinson defeated Garden City 6-0 on September 23 in Garden City in a game shorted to 72 minutes because of lightning. Jasmine Blindt had two goals, while Sheena Nichol and Miyklayla Moresco had a goal and assist each to lead the Blue Dragons, who out-shot Garden City 35-1. Sophomore keeper Ashley Main made one easy save in the game.

This has been a tough season for Garden City, now 0-12. The Broncbusters have been outscored this season 84-4.The Busters do come off their best offensive game of the season in a 4-2 loss to Hesston College on Wednesday.

Saturday's game will be videostreamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network beginning at 3 p.m.
