Hutchinson Community College sophomore forward Haley Rogers posted her first career hat trick and had nine points in two matches this past week for the No. 20-ranked Blue Dragons.
On Tuesday, the sophomore from Maize was named the KJCCC Division I Women's Soccer Player of the Week.
In Hutchinson's 7-2 victory over Garden City, Rogers had a career-high seven points with three goals and an assist to pace the Dragons. Her first career hat trick was the 99th all-time hat trick in Blue Dragon women's soccer history.
She tallied a pair impressive assists in the Dragons' 2-2 tie at Seward County. First, Rogers delivered a perfect cross for teammate Kaitlyn Edwards to head in. Later in the first half, Rogers' corner kick was headed in by Ana Pokrandt for a 2-0 lead. That's the third time already this season that Rogers has had a direct assist or scored directly from a corner kick.
Rogers is tied for second in the KJCCC in goals scored through two weeks with four goals, four assists and 12 points.
The now-No. 18 Blue Dragons (2-0-1) play host to Dodge City at 6 p.m. on Wednesday at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.
