Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team suffered a drop of five spots in the NJCAA Division I Women's Soccer Rankings, which were released on Monday.

The Blue Dragons dropped a 1-0 decision to now-No. 11 Kansas City on Wednesday at the Salthawk Sports Complex. The Blue Dragons, now 12-3-3 overall, suffered a 4-2 loss to No. 17 Cowley on Monday after the rankings came out.

Now ranked in 14 consecutive rankings periods, that ties for the second-longest run in the polls in team history.

Five Jayhawk Conference teams are ranked in this week's rankings led by KJCCC Champion Barton at No. 8. Kansas City is No. 11, Hutchinson is No. 16, Cowley No. 17 and Barton No. 18.

Iowa Western remains the No. 1 team in the poll with all seven first-place votes. Seminole State remains No. 2 and Tyler remains No. 3. Salt Lake jumps up to No. 4 and Monroe Community College is No. 5.

The Blue Dragons' next game will be the Region VI Tournament quarterfinals on Sunday. Pairings will be released on Tuesday.
