The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team handled its business Saturday.

The No. 19 Blue Dragons completed a season sweep of Garden City after a 3-1 victory at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

The Blue Dragons improved to 11-2 overall, 8-2 (24 points) in the Jayhawk West. Garden City has now lost 9 of its last 10 games and is 4-9-1 overall and 0-8-1 in conference play.

Hutchinson Blue Dragons are now 30-0 all-time against Garden City. The Dragons also maintain their share of first place in the Jayhawk West with Barton.

Freshman Adriana Delgado, sophomore Julia Diaz De Souza and sophomore Hadlie Lowe netted goals as the Blue Dragons remained undefeated at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

Delgado's goal in the 12th minute was a tapped pass from freshman Maren Lackey at the top of the penalty box. That 1-0 Dragon lead was the halftime score.

Hutchinson took a two-goal lead off a corner kick from third-year sophomore Ella-Mae Miller, De Souza batted the ball with her right foot into the goal in the 50th.

Leading 2-1, Lowe added an insurance goal in the 84th minute on a feed from De Souza after a long corner kick.

Lowe now has 30 career goals and 70 career points. The 30 goals tie Madison Joyce for ninth in Blue Dragon history. The 70 points move Lowe into 15th place on that career list.

The lone goal the Blue Dragons gave up came in the 72nd minute off a free kick where Garden City's Hannah Duncan drove a long ball past goalkeeper Olivia Felix-Cardona. Felix-Cardona improved to 6-2 as a starter.

De Souza totaled three points in the match with an assist and a goal.

The Blue Dragons have three games remaining in the regular season, two coming on the road including the next match on Wednesday, Oct. 12 at Dodge City.
