The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team got into an early hole against the sixth-ranked team in the country on Saturday.

The No. 6-ranked Butler Grizzlies scored three early goals to put the Blue Dragons in a big, early hole. The Blue Dragons could not dig themselves out of. The No. 17-ranked Blue Dragons dropped a 3-0 Jayhawk Conference decision to Butler at BG Products/Veterans Memorial Stadium.

The Blue Dragons fell to 10-2 overall and 7-2 in the Jayhawk West. The Blue Dragons are 2-1 in their last three matchups, which have all been against NJCAA-ranked opponents. Hutchinson plays a fourth-straight ranked opponent on Wednesday when the 12th-ranked Barton Cougars travel to Hutchinson for potentially another top 20 battle at the Salthawk Soccer Complex.

Saturday's loss was the first time this season the Blue Dragons were shut out, a first since the Region VI quarterfinal to Coffeyville last season.

Butler's Brooke Sullivan scored twice, including the game-winner, in the first 22 minutes and Emma Kolbe added another to boost the Grizzlies lead in the first half.

Hutchinson was outshot 23-14, including 12 shots on goal by Butler to Hutchinson's four – two by sophomores Julia Dias De Souza and Hadlie Lowe.

Blue Dragons goalkeeper Olivia Felix-Cardona was handed her second loss of the season. The sophomore had nine saves Saturday.
