BLUE DRAGON SOCCER SHUTS OUT GARDEN CITY TO MOVE TO 9-0

GARDEN CITY – Jasmine Blindt scored two goals and the Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team had another dominant defensive game as the No. 19 Blue Dragons defeated Garden City 6-0 in a Jayhawk West matchup at Broncbuster Stadium.

The game was halted with 18 minutes, 50 seconds remaining by lightning. The game surpassed the 70-minute mark which made it an official contest.

The Blue Dragons posted their eight shutout to improve to 9-0 overall and 5-0 in the Jayhawk West (15 points). Garden City falls to 0-7 and 0-5. The Blue Dragons face a key conference road battle on Wednesday at Cloud County.

Sophomore Miykayla Moresco scored an unassisted goal just 6:01 into the game to start a four-goal first half. Blindt added her fourth and fifth goals of the season for a 3-0 lead built in the first 14 minutes of the game.

Sophomore Sheena Nichol and Moresco both had one-goal, one-assist games for the Blue Dragons. Kaitlyn Sabala and Yadira Delgado had the other goals for Hutchinson. Freshman Brailey Moeder had a single assist.

The Blue Dragons out-shot Garden City 35-1, putting 13 shots on goal against Broncbuster keeper Emma Parsons, who had seven saves and allowed six goals.

Sophomore goalkeeper Ashley Main (5-0) posted her fourth shutout needing to make only one save.
