COLBY – For the second-straight game, the Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team produced a season-high offensive output and in doing so, earned its 20th victory of the season on Sunday Colby.

The 15th-ranked Blue Dragons secured a 20-win season for the 27th time in program history in a 93-39 victory over Colby at the Colby Community Building.

The Blue Dragons improve to 20-3 overall and 16-3 in the Jayhawk Conference. Hutchinson stays one game behind Seward County for first place in the Jayhawk. Colby dropped its 11th-consecutive game and falls to 4-19 overall 2-17 in the league.

After scoring a season-high 91 points against Neosho County on Wednesday, the Blue Dragons surpassed that with 93 points against the Trojans. The Blue Dragons shot a season's best 57.6 percent and dished out a season-high 29 assists. The Blue Dragons also limited Colby to an opponent season-low 21 percent shooting.

Four players scored in double figures for Hutchinson led by freshman Dejanae Roebuck, who had 23 points and nine rebounds.

Freshman Jada Mickens had her 11th double-double of the season with 15 points and 10 rebounds. She had 13 points and 10 boards in the first half.

Freshman Sara Cramer hit four 3-point goals and finished with 15 points. Freshman Tia Bradshaw had a season-high three 3-pointers and finished with 15 points and four assists.

The Blue Dragons hit 38 of 66 total shots, shooting at least 50 percent in every quarter. Hutch was 9 of 19 from 3-point range and 8 of 16 from the foul line. The Dragons out-rebounded Colby 52-28, but had to overcome 25 turnovers.

Colby shot 13 of 62 overall, hitting 4 of 21 from 3-point range and 9 of 12 from the foul line. The Trojans also had 25 turnovers. Jordan Dixon had 12 point on 4 of 17 shooting. Meagan Woodward had 11 points with three 3-pointers.

The Blue Dragons had and early 7-0 run to build a 9-2 lead after Roebuck converted a three-point play with 3:48 to go in the opening quarter. Tia Bradshaw hit a 3-pointer at the 1:55 mark to give Hutch its first 10-point lead. The Dragons led 18-10 after one quarter,

Hutch used a 9-0 run that was capped by a Roebuck putback to build a 29-12 lead with 5:18 to go in the second quarter. Leading 29-16, the Blue Dragons closed the half on a 10-0 run over the final 2:26 of the half. Hutch took a 39-16 lead at halftime after a Cramer free throw with 2 seconds to play in the half.

The Blue Dragons exploded in the third quarter, outscoring Colby 36-13. The Dragons were 14 of 21 shooting in the third quarter, including 7 of 9 3-pointers. A Cramer 3-pointer with 5:16 left gave Hutch its first 30-point lead at 53-21. It reached 40 points for the first time in a Kayla Barber bucket with 1:37 left which made it 69-29. The Dragons led 75-29 after three quarters.

The Blue Dragons play the next two game at home beginning with Butler at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.
