The No. 15-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team makes its first attempt at its 27th 20-win season when the Blue Dragons head west to meet the Colby Trojans on Sunday.

Tipoff is set for 2 p.m. Sunday at the Colby Community Building. The game will also be videostreamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 1:50 p.m.

The Blue Dragons need a victory to stay within a game of first place in the Jayhawk Conference. Seward County maintained its hold on first place with a victory over Cowley on Saturday. Entering the weekend, Hutchinson, Cowley and Independence were in a three-way tie for second place.

Hutchinson has won four in a row and 17 of 18 after Wednesday's 91-50 victory over Neosho County at the Sports Arena. The Blue Dragons had a season-best offensive output and forced 34 turnovers against the Panthers in the victory. Kayla Barber had her first career 20-point game to lead four Blue Dragons in double figures.

Colby is on a 10-game losing streak after falling to Dodge City 83-53 on Wednesday at Dodge City. The closest game the Trojans have had in the streak is 10 points – a 60-50 loss to Allen on Jan. 24. Colby's last victory came on Dec. 6, a 66-47 win over Pratt.

Now the Blue Dragons go after a season sweep of Colby.

Hutchinson defeated Colby 90-46 on November 29 at the Sports Arena. Alicia Brown scored a game- and career-high 21 points in the first game. Dejanae Roebuck had a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Jada Mickens had 14 points and Sara Cramer had 10 points.

The Blue Dragons held Colby to 25.4 percent shooting in jumping out to a 30-9 lead after the first quarter. Meona Leonard had eight points to lead the Trojans.

Colby is averaging 54.8 points per game offensively shooting 28.9 percent overall and 22.0 percent from 3-point range. The Trojans are allowing 77.8 points per game with opponents shooting 38.5 percent.
