Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Top Hutchinson Community College track and field performers through the first two meets of the 2018 season will be in action on Friday at the University of Kansas' Jayhawk Classic in Lawrence.

Events begin at 9 a.m. on Friday at Anschutz Sports Pavilion.

Veteran Blue Dragon head coach Pat Becher will take 20 Blue Dragon men's athletes and 10 women's athletes to compete on Friday.

Through two meets of the 2018 indoor season, the Blue Dragon men have seven national qualifiers, the women have one.

HUTCH MEN
The seventh-ranked Hutchinson men will send 11 athletes currently ranked in the NJCAA Division I Top 20.

+ Freshman Richard Newman's ranked No. 2 in the nation in the high jump (6-10 3/4). Norman is sixth in the long jump (23-3 1/2).

+ Freshman Tre'Jaun Cash is ranked No. 5 in the 60-meter hurdles (8.31). Cash is ranked No. 14 in the triple jump (45-5 1/4).

+ Sophomore Jeffrey Muiruri is No. 6 in the 60-meter hurdles (8.33).

+ Sophomore Michael Bryan is sixth in the weight throw (52-2 3/5.

+ Sophomore Kadrin Williams is ranked ninth in the 60 meters (6.83).

+ Freshman Devon Henderson is ranked 10th in the 60 meters (6.84). His is 20th in the long jump (22-0 7/5).

+ Freshman D.J. Norman is No. 14 in the high jump (6-4 3/4).

+ Freshman Jason Luft is 15th in the 1,000 meters (2:42.32).

+ Freshman Garet Johnson is ranked 16th in the shot put (46-0 3/4).

+ Freshman Connor Kaufman is 16th in the 1,000 meters (2:42.80).

+ Freshman Elijah Smith is 17th in the 600 meters (1:23.06).

HUTCH WOMEN
The 13th-ranked Blue Dragon women take six athletes ranked in the nation's Top 20 to Lawrence.

+ Sophomore Adriana Janic is ranked No. 4 in the high jump (5-3 1/4) and 15th in the long jump (17-0 1/2). Janic, the defending national champion in the 60-meter hurdles, has yet to post a time this season, but she is the defending KU Classic NJCAA/NIAI/NCAA Division II) champion in the event.

+ Freshman Sarah Patteson is ranked No. 8 in the 1,000 meters (3:17.99).

+ Sophomore Alex Rodriquez is ranked ninth in the weight throw (46-0) and 15th in the shot put (40-0 3/4).

+ Sophomore Maggie Lambert is ranked No. 13 in the 1,000 meters (3:28.14)

+ Freshman America Garcia is 14th in the 1,000 meters (3:28.23).

+ Freshman Brooke Lachenmayr is 18th in the shot put (39-5 1/4).
