The No. 7-ranked Hutchinson Community College Baseball team had seven extra-base hits in Game 1 to knock the Redlands Cougars from the unbeaten ranks on Tuesday at Hobart-Detter Field.

The Dragons then used a walk-off fielder's choice and the speed of Zion Bowlin to complete the sweep of the Cougars.

Playing for the first time in nine days, the Blue Dragons swept Redlands 13-5 and 7-6 to improve to 6-3 heading into Thursdays' Jayhawk West opener with Colby at Hobart-Detter Field. Redlands falls to 10-2.

GAME 1 RECAP
The Blue Dragons tied a season high with 15 hits in the first game, getting three doubles, a triple and three home runs against three Redlands pitchers.

After falling behind 2-0 after one-half inning, the Blue Dragons immediately struck back with RBI singles by Logan Sartori and Bobby Morgensen and a Ryan Moritz RBI double to take a 3-2 lead after one inning.

Sartori added an RBI double in the second and a two-run triple in the fifth to build a 7-2 lead.

Redlands scored three runs in the top of the sixth to pull within two. Again the Dragons answered back with back-to-back home runs from Julian Rip, a three-run shot, and Wyatt Divis. Two batters later, Morgensen hit a two-run homer to make it 13-5.

The top three batters of the Blue Dragon order combined to go 9 for 10 with five extra-base hits, 10 runs scored and eight RBIs.

Divis went 3 for 3 with a double, home run four runs scored and one RBI. Sartori was 3 for 3 with a double-triple, three runs and tied a season high with four RBIs. Morgensen was 3 for 4 with his first home run of the season and three RBIs.

Freshman Ryan Summers came out of the bullpen to work a scoreless 1 1-3 innings to earn his first pitching victory. He had one strikeout and one hit batsman. Freshman Dylan Nedved pitched the final 1 1-3 inning to earn his first career save with a hit allowed and an strikeout.

GAME 2 RECAP
Hutchinson led 5-2, but Redlands tied the game up with three runs in the fifth inning.

Moritz drew a one-out walk and went to third on a Nedved single to single and a bobble by the Cougar centerfielder. After Brock Schaffer was intentionally walked to load the bases, Zion Bowlin hit a hot shot to second and beat the throw to first as Redlands tried to turn an inning-ending double play. That allowed Moritz to score the game-winning run in a 6-5 victory

That gave Zach Moore his first pitching victory of the season. Moore (1-0) worked the final two innings and allowed only two runs.

Starting pitcher Mike Brown worked the first two innings had had four strikes, but gave up three hits and two earned runs. Grady Kirkhart and Gage Wall both pitched out of the pen for the Dragons.

Offensively, the Dragons had seven hits in Game 2.

Nedved was 2 for 3 with an RBI.

Morgensen and Divis both homers and Zach Baxley had a double.
