The No. 7-ranked Hutchinson Community College baseball team is finally back on the field on Tuesday after a series of weather-related cancellations and schedule changes.

The Blue Dragons will take on the Redlands Community College Cougars at 1 p.m. Tuesday in a doubleheader at Hobart-Detter Field. Both games will be seven-inning games.

The last time the Blue Dragons played was February 18 when Hutchinson defeated Independence 19-12 at Hobart-Detter Field. Since, the Dragons lost a three-game series at Rose State and that this doubleheader switched a couple of times.

Through seven games, the Blue Dragons are hitting .332 with an average of 9.8 runs per game scored. The Dragons have a team slugging percentage of .576 with 21 doubles, four triples and nine home runs.

Eight different Dragons are hitting better than .300 with freshman Ryan Moritz leading the way with a .545 average and eight RBIs.

Defensively and on the mound, the Blue Dragons haven't been stellar. Hutch has a team ERA of 4.57 and a fielding percentage of .928 with 18 errors in seven games.

The Blue Dragons are desperate to get back on the field because they open Jayhawk West play on Thursday at home against the Colby Trojans.

Redlands is 8-0 heading into Tuesday's doubleheader.

The Cougars are posting a team batting average of .359 and have 15 home runs through eight games. Redlands has been off for 12 days, last playing NEO on Feb. 15.
