Hutchinson Community College sophomore Serenity Larson placed in the Top 10 for the second-straight season as the Blue Dragon women placed sixth overall at the Terry Masterson Twilight Classic on Friday at Fun Valley.

The Blue Dragons scored 126 team points on Friday. Fort Hays State won the women's team championship for the third time with a team score of 31 points. Tabor College was second with 54 points. Butler finished third with 97 points.

Larson, a third-team NJCAA All-American in 2022 started this season off with a time of 18:53.44 on Friday over the three-mile course.

Freshman Laura Avila was the second Blue Dragon to cross the finish line. Avila placed 21st overall with a time of 19:42.63.

Sophomore Taylor Hoskinson placed 33rd overall with a time of 20:26.70. Freshman Jordyn Picolet placed 39th with a time of 20:51.85. Freshman Abigail Grantham also figured in the scoring as Hutchinson's fifth runner to cross the line. Grantham was 48th with a time of 21:15.61

Sophomore Lauren Aden was 56th with a time of 22:18. 26. Freshman Chloe Inskeep was 62nd with a time of 23:01.69.

Fort Hays State's Regan Hodsden set a meet record with a winning time of 17:34.75. Teammate Jaycee Vath was second in 17:59.39.

The Blue Dragon women will compete at the Missouri Southern Stampede on September 15 in Joplin, Missouri.
