EL DORADO – Freshman Sarah Patteson became the third Hutchinson Community College women's cross country runner to lead the team in a race this season on Monday.
Patteson led the No. 13-ranked Blue Dragons to a fourth-place finish at the Ollie Isom Invitational at Wartick Farm in El Dorado.
Patteson joined sophomore Maggie Lambert and freshman Aileen Gomez as top Blue Dragon finishers in meets this season. Patteson finished 16th overall with a time of 20 minutes, 19.81 seconds.
The Blue Dragons scored 136 points and averaged 21:08.46 on Monday. Hutchinson finished behind team champion Cowley (18 points), Butler (58 points) and Allen (65 points).
Lambert was the second Blue Dragon to finish, placing 19th with a time of 20:31.81.
Macy Linenberger was 33rd in a time of 21:13.43. Saw Ahmara was 38th in 21:28.71 and Gomez was fifth in a time of 22:08.38.
Caitlin Schlickau placed 48th with a time of 22:16.87. America Garcia was 51st in 22:37.36. Ashton Schlickau placed 59th with a time of 23:06.52. Veronica Embrey was 60th in a time of 23:16.58.
Carissa Youngs placed 62nd in 23:23.84. Amy Burton was 66th in 23:47.74 and Yanelly Jurado was 71st with a time of 24:09.55
This was Hutchinson's final regular-season race. The Region VI Cross Country Championships will be Monday, October 30 in Garden City.
