Tori Provencio is in her eighth year as an assistant coach with the Blue Dragon volleyball program.

A Kansas native from Derby, Provencio was a starting libero at Pratt Community College in 2010 and 2011 and was a member of the Beavers’ 2010 Jayhawk West championship team.

Provencio began her coaching career at Hutchinson after a stellar playing career at both Pratt and Newman University. Provencio took the 2018 season off and returned to the Blue Dragon bench midway through the 2019 season.

In her first season as the Blue Dragon assistant, Hutchinson won its fourth-straight Jayhawk West and Region VI championships and finished ninth in the NJCAA National Tournament, going 34-9 in 2015. The Blue Dragons shared the Jayhawk West championship in 2016 and advanced all the way to the Region VI finals, ultimately finishing with a record of 25-12. After a one-year hiatus in 2016, the Blue Dragons won the program’s 10th Region VI championship with a thrilling 3-0 sweep of No. 3 Seward County in the Region VI championship match on the Saints’ home floor to qualify for the NJCAA national tournament at the Hutchinson Sports Arena.

The Blue Dragons are 133-92 with Provencio on the bench. That tenure includes two Jayhawk West championships and two Region VI titles.

As a freshman libero on Pratt’s 2010 conference championship team, Provencio tallied 384 total digs and averaged a team-high 3.28 digs per set, which led the Beavers. Provencio led the Beaver back line again in 2011 with 448 total digs and 4.15 digs per set. She earned honorable mention all-Jayhawk West honors in both seasons.

At Newman University under head coach Natalie Rawson, Provencio sat out the 2012 season, but played for the Jets as a libero in 2013 and 2014. She was part of one Heartland Conference volleyball championship.

As a junior in 2013, Provencio appeared in 22 matches with the Jets and finished with 127 total digs and 1.87 digs per set. During her senior season in 2014, Provencio played in 25 matches and had 172 digs, averaging 2.36 digs per match. She reached double figures in digs eight times, posting a career-high 17 against Lubbock Christian.

Provencio was a four-year starter as a libero at Derby High School. She earned first-team all-AVCTL Division I honors in her senior season of 2009.

Provencio graduated from Pratt Community College in 2012 with an Associate of Science Degree. She graduated from Newman University in 2015 with a Psychology degree. Provencio earned her Master’s Degree in education (clinical mental health) from Wichita State University in 2023.

Provencio has one daughter, Summer.
