PARK HILLS, Missouri – Freshman Atlyn Proctor had a career-high number of kills and freshman Addy Foster had a career high in digs, but the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team suffered a five -set loss to Vincennes University in the Cardinal Classic on Friday at Mineral Area College.
The Blue Dragons went 0-2 on Day 1 of the Cardinal Classic, falling to No. 14 Indian Hills 25-14, 25-15, 25-16. Then Vincennes rallied from a 2-1 match deficit to sting the Dragons 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 21-25, 12-15.
Hutchinson is now 12-15 overall. The Blue Dragons will play No. 13 Missouri State-West Plains at 9 a.m. and tournament host Mineral Area at 11 a.m. on Saturday.
VINCENNES RECAP
Proctor had a career-best 23 kills to lead the Blue Dragon offense. This was her third match this season of 20 or more digs.
Foster had her seventh match of 20 or more digs, getting a career-high 28 digs.
Tiana Simmons had eight kills and three blocks for the Dragons. Freshman Kierny Follmer had a season-high eight kills.
Sophomore setter Shelbi Wilson posted her fourth double-double of the season with 41 assists and 10 digs. Four Blue Dragons had four players reach double figures in digs. Freshman Siani Sanchez had a season-high 14 digs. Wilson and freshman Ellie Suber had 10 digs each.
Sophomore McKenzie Murphy finished with three blocks, including a solo block.

Proctor had seven kills and Simmons had five kills to lead the Dragons.
