After a tremendous opening weekend in which she led the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team to wins over the Nos. 3 and 1 teams in the nation, Blue Dragon sophomore Baylee Miller was named the Jayhawk Conference's first Division I Volleyball Player of the Week of the season on Tuesday.

The Blue Dragons' sophomore outside/right-side hitter from Wichita, Miller twice posted career highs for kills and helped the Blue Dragons upset No. 3 Missouri State University-West Plains and No. 1 Iowa Western both on Saturday at the Reiver Classic in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

For the week in four matches and 17 sets, Miller hit .370 and had 3.35 kills per set.

Miller had a career-high of 14 kills and 14 digs in a five-set loss to No. 19 Indian Hills on Friday. Then on Saturday, Miller had career bests of 24 kills and .537 hitting percentage in leading the Blue Dragons to a victory over No. 3 West Plains.

A few hours later, Miller had 16 kills on .281 hitting in helping the Dragons earn a victory over an NJCAA Division I No. 1-ranked program for the first time in program history with a five-set win over top-ranked and defending national champion Iowa Western.
