
Hutchinson CC Sports Information
WEST PLAINS, Missouri – The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team earned a split of matches on Friday at the Grizzly Invitational at the West Plains Civic Center on Friday.
The Blue Dragons dropped a four-set match to No. 13 Panola 25-23, 25-11, 11-25, 25-22. Hutchinson then swept Jefferson College 25-14, 25-23, 25-22.
Hutchinson is now 14-12 overall. The Blue Dragons will play No. 11 Tyler at 11 a.m. and Missouri State-West Plains at 5 p.m. on Saturday.
JEFFERSON RECAP
Sophomore libero Raychel Reed moved into fourth place on the Blue Dragon career digs list with a 20-dig effort in the sweep of Jefferson College in Hutch's second match of the day. She moved past Megan Koster (2005-06) and now has 984 career digs.
The Blue Dragons had three players with at least nine kills against the Vikings led by freshman Eden Hiebert and sophomore Elena Takova, both had 10 kills in the match. Hiebert hit .288 with only two errors in 30 attacks. Freshman Chloe Partridge had nine kills on 11 attacks with one error for a .818 attack percentage.
Sophomore Cassidy Crites had six kills, 17 assists and four total blocks. Payton Gawith had 11 digs. Claira Creach also reached double figures in kills with 11.
The Blue Dragons had 10 team service aces with Reed and Takova tallying three each.
PANOLA RECAP
The Blue Dragons dropped their second four-set match of the season to the nationally ranked Ponies this season.
Takova was the only Blue Dragon in double-figure kills with 10. Hiebert finished with eight kills, 10 digs and three total blocks.
Crites had her ninth double-double of the season with 15 assists and 12 digs. Reed finished with 17 digs.
The Blue Dragons had eight blocks and four ace served against Panola.
