Middle hitter Tatyana Ndekwe had her best collective week as a Blue Dragon and the Hutchinson Community College sophomore was named the Jayhawk West Player of the Week on Tuesday.

The sophomore from Cache, Oklahoma, led the conference last week with a .605 hitting percentage. Ndekwe averaged 3.11 kills per set in sweeps over Dodge City, Colby and Pratt last week. Ndekwe posted a season-high 14 kills on .571 hitting at Dodge City.

Ndekwe also averaged 1.22 blocks per set. She had two of three matches with five total blocks, including a couple of solo stuffs.

Ndekwe is the fourth different Blue Dragon to earn conference Player of the Week honors. Page Hiebert has been named the KJCCC player of the week three times Katie Jorn was the setter of the week once and Raychel Reed was the defensive player of the week one.

Ndekwe is now eligible for NJCAA national honors. Those awards will be announced on Wednesday.
