The Hutchinson Community College Volleyball Team plays its final regular-season home match of the season on Friday when the Pratt Beavers come to the Sports Arena for a 6:30 p.m. match.

The Blue Dragons remain alive in their bid to win a sixth-straight Jayhawk West championship. The Blue Dragons trail first-place Seward County by 1.5 games with two conference matches remaining for Hutchinson and three for the Saints. The scenario is simple, the Blue Dragons must run the table, which means defeating Seward County in Liberal on October 28 and have the Saints drop 1 of their remaining two matches to either Butler or Colby.

Hutchinson rides a three-game winning streak into Friday's match with the Beavers after sweeping Colby on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.

The Beavers are 7-26 overall and 2-11 in the Jayhawk West. The Beavers have a 1.5 game lead over Cloud County for the final Region VI Tournament spot. Pratt has dropped three matches in a row and 10 of its last 11 outings. The Dragons were swept by Dodge City at home on Wednesday night.

The Blue Dragons defeated Pratt 25-20, 25-19, 25-10 in the first meeting between the two teams on September 20 at the Beaverdome in Pratt. The Blue Dragons hit.287 for the match and hit better than .300 in the first and third sets. Hutch also had nine team blocks and five service aces. Page Hiebert led Hutch with nine kills. Cassidy Crites had seven and Leonie Wienkaemper had six kills. Tatyana Ndekwe has six total blocks

Pratt was limited to .033 hitting. Brooke Merhusen led the Beavers with 10 kills.

After Friday's match, Hutchinson will have a full week to prepare for its road trip to Seward County on October 28.
