WEST PLAINS, Mo. – The Hutchinson Community College Volleyball team reached the 20-win plateau for the sixth-straight season and for the 30th time in program history after the Blue Dragons defeated Jefferson College in four sets on Friday at the MSU-West Plains Grizzly Classic at the West Plains Civic Center.

The Blue Dragons split matches on Friday, falling to No. 10 Panola College 25-22, 25-19, 25-20. The Dragons then registered season highs for team blocks and services aces as Hutchinson defeated Jefferson College 25-20, 21-25, 25-18, 25-15.

Hutchinson is improves to 20-10 overall. The Blue Dragons will play No. 20 Tyler Junior College at 11 a.m. and Missouri State-West Plains at 5 p.m. on Saturday.

JEFFERSON COLLEGE RECAP
The Blue Dragons totaled season highs of 15.5 team blocks. The block total was a complete turnaround from Friday's earlier match where the Dragons had a season-low one block against Panola.

Sophomore Tatyana Ndekwe had a huge match at the net with a career-high 12 blocks (1 solo, 11 assists). Ndekwe's performance tied for the second-most blocks in Blue Dragon single-match history. Ndekwe joined Kim Rausch (2001), Ludmila Amaral (2007) and Petra Silic (2014) for second on the Hutch single match blocks list. Freshman Cassidy Crites added a season-high six blocks.

Freshman Raychel Reed led the Dragons to a season-high 12 service aces with four. Sophomore Katie Jorn added three aces. The last time the Dragons had 10 or more aces in a match was September 6 against Dodge City (10 aces).

The Blue Dragons were balanced offensively. Sophomore Page Hiebert had a team-high 11 kills on .098 hitting with seven kills.

Sophomore Nina Pevic added nine kills on .467 hitting. Ndekwe added to her huge match with eight kills on .400 hitting. Freshman Lexi Turner hit .600 with six kills. Freshman Leonie Wienkaemper also had six kills.

Crites led the Blue Dragons with a season-high 24 assists. Jorn added 16 assists.

Reed finished with a team-high 20 digs. Sophomore Kelsey Mulligan had seven digs.

PANOLA RECAP
No. 10 Panola had small surges in each set on Friday morning and the Blue Dragons just couldn't make up the difference as the Blue Dragons lost in three sets.

Hiebert posted her eighth double-double of the season with 15 kills and 13 digs. Hiebert hit.105 on 57 swings.

Jorn was Hutchinson's second-leading hitter with eight kills on 12 attacks for a career-best .667 hitting percentage. Jorn added 19 assists.

Wienkaemper and Pevic added four kills each.

Crites added seven assists and Reed had 19 digs. Ndekwe had the Blue Dragons' only block of the match.
