GREAT BEND – Sophomore Page Hiebert posted a double-double and freshman Leonie Wienkaemper knocked down a season-high kill total as the Hutchinson Community College volleyball team swept the Barton Cougars in a Jayhawk West matchup on Monday night at the Barton Gym.

Forty-eight hours after losing its first conference match, Hutchinson rebounded to defeat Barton 25-12, 25-18 25-21 to improve to 9-5 overall and 5-1 in the Jayhawk West. The Blue Dragons travel to Pratt on Wednesday before playing most to the Midwest Superstore/Blue Dragon Volleyball Classic this weekend at the Sports Arena.

Hiebert had a match-high 16 kills on 31 swings. She hit.452 on Monday night and had her second double-double with 10 digs.

Wienkaemper had season highs of 10 kills and a .588 attack percentage.

Sophomore setter Katie Jorn had 24 assists, while freshman Payton Gawith had 11 assists.

Freshman Raychel Reed had a team-high 12 digs. Sophomore Patricia Joseph had five total assists and freshman Cassidy Crites had three assists.
