One day after earning back-to-back Jayhawk Conference Player of the Week honors, Hutchinson Community College sophomore outside hitter Page Hiebert was recognized nationally.

Hiebert was recognized on Wednesday as the NJCAA's Division I Volleyball National Player of the Week after several stellar performances last week.

Hiebert is the first Blue Dragon volleyball player win national player of the week honors since Aubrey Wilson on October 2, 2014.

The 6-foot sophomore All-Conference player from Goessel had a huge week with four matches of 13 or more kills in a 3-2 week for the Blue Dragons, which included a sweep of No. 4 Salt Lake at the CSI/Starr Classic.

For the week, Hiebert hit .346 with 4.80 kills per set. She also averaged 2.13 digs and 0.40 ace serves per set.

The week started with the second-highest kill total of her career (18) and a .394 hitting percentage with nine digs in a conference victory over Dodge City.

In the 3-0 victory over No. 4 Salt Lake, Hiebert had 17 kills on .400 hitting with eight digs and four aces.

Against No. 6 Southern Idaho, Hiebert will put up big numbers with 13 kills on a season-high .444 hitting.

Hiebert currently leads the conference at 4.18 kills per set.
