The Hutchinson Community College volleyball team plays its first Jayhawk West road contest on Friday when the Blue Dragons travel to Cloud County in Concordia.
The Blue Dragons enter play on Friday with a 3-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in the Jayhawk West after a sweep of Garden City on Wednesday at the Sports Arena. Cloud County is 2-4 overall and 0-1 in the conference after being swept by Pratt. Friday's match will be Cloud County's 2017 home opener.
Hutchinson hit a season-high .481 in a 25-14, 25-17, 28-26 victory over the Broncbusters on Wednesday at the Sports Arena. Page Hiebert led the Dragons with 14 kills and sophomore Nina Pevic tied a career high with 10 kills on .556 hitting.
The Blue Dragon improved their season hitting percentage to .248 with 11.5 kills per set.
Cloud County enters the match hitting .295 with 8.6 kills and 11.52 digs per set. The Thunderbirds are balanced with eight different players averaging between one and two kills per set.
Hutchinson will next be at home on Wednesday to take on the Dodge City Conquistadors at 6:30 p.m. in the Sports Arena.
