GAINESVILLE, Florida – On Day 1 of the 2024 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, Hutchinson Community College middle distance runner Taylor Hoskinson earned her third NJCAA All-America honor.

On Saturday, the sophomore from Haven wrapped up the 2024 championships with a school record.

Hoskinson set a new school record in the Mile run on Saturday with a time of 5:12.62. That time surpassed Louise Cocking's old record of 5:14.93 since at the 2022 national championships.

Hoskinson on Friday was part of Hutchinson's eighth-place Distance Medley Relay team that set a school record.

Through the 2024 indoor season, the Blue Dragon women set five new school records.

Right behind Hoskinson in the Mile on Saturday was sophomore Ellie Van Zelfden, who finished 22nd in the race with a PR time of 5:15.65, the third-fastest indoor time in Blue Dragon history.

The Blue Dragons scored 4.5 points on Saturday to finish the two-day events with 5.5 points and a 27th-place finish.

Freshman Brooke Hawkins tied for seventh in the high jump after clearing 5-3 1/2 (1.62 meters) and was eighth in the triple jump at 38-0 3/4.

Sophomore Kaylee James improved her qualifying spot in the 60-meter hurdle finals on Saturday. James finished seventh with a tie of 8.87 seconds. She qualified for the finals with the eight-fastest time in Friday's preliminary round.

Barton and Iowa Western tied for the team national championship with 106 points each.

The Blue Dragons open the outdoor season on March 23 at the Mark A Phillips Invitational in Arkansas City.
