Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's track and field team dropped two spots this week in the United States Track and Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) NJCAA Division I Indoor rankings released on Wednesday.

Sophomore Alex Rodriguez led a strong Hutchinson showing at the Jayhawk Classic last Friday in Lawrence. Rodriguez qualified for the NJCAA indoor nationals in March in the two throwing events. The Blue Dragons have three national qualifiers for the season.

Iowa Central remains No. 1 in the second regular-season rankings of the season. Central Arizona, New Mexico Junior College, Barton and Monroe round out the Top 5.

Other Jayhawk Conference teams that are ranked in the Top 25 this week are Cowley at No. 7, Cloud County at No. 9, Butler at No. 10, Highland at No. 12, Coffeyville at No. 13, Hutchinson and Garden City at No. 17.

The Blue Dragons travel to the Fred Beile Classic on Saturday in Crete, Nebraska.
