The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team goes in search of a season sweep of Garden City on Saturday in a home game against the Broncbusters.

The site and time for Saturday's showdown between Hutchinson and Garden City have changed. The game will now be on the turf of Don Michael Field at 7 p.m. Originally, the game was supposed to be at 6 p.m. at the Salthawk Sports Complex. But the heavy rain over the last few days has made the new natural grass surface at the SSC unplayable.

Saturday will be the fourth home game this season for the Blue Dragons at Don Michael Field. The Dragons are 2-1 at DMF, including Wednesday's 2-0 victory over Barton.

Hutchinson is currently in second place in the Jayhawk West, currently six points behind leader Cloud County.

The Blue Dragons have held opponents to a league-low three goals allowed this season. That mark is tied for the fourth-fewest in the nation. The Dragons have eight shutouts this season, also the fourth-most in the nation this season.

Hutchinson defeated Garden City 2-0 on September 11 in Garden City. Esther Karhayu and Macy Smith scored first-half goals and Hutch's defense held Garden City without a shot-on-goal.

Freshman Samantha Vaughn leads the Blue Dragons with 13 goals. Karhayu has nine goals. Marah Franke and sophomore Naomi Waithira are tied for the team assist lead with nine. Goalkeeper Chiara Soergel is 8-2 with a .030 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.

The Broncbusters, whose head coach is former Blue Dragon assistant Corey Bryant, snapped a 12-game losing streak on Wednesday with a 2-0 victory over Pratt. Ariana Sanchez and Noeli Munoz were Garden City's goal scorers in the victory over the Beavers. Goalkeeper Kaylee Keller had eight saves in the win.

Hutchinson is 24-0 all-time against Garden City, the most wins by the Dragons over any opponent in team history.
