The Hutchinson Community College women's soccer team looks to turn around some negative momentum on Saturday as the postseason begins for the Blue Dragons.

The Blue Dragons (13-3-1) will play host to the Coffeyville Red Ravens (12-5) in one of four Region VI Women's Soccer Tournament opening-round games at home sites across the state. The Blue Dragons and Red Ravens meet at 2 p.m. at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

The Hutchinson/Coffeyville winner will take on the Barton/Johnson County winner in the semifinals at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 2 at Hummer Park in Topeka. The Region VI championship match is set for 10 a.m. on Friday in Topeka.

Hutchinson started the season with 10 consecutive victories, nine by shutout and reached as high as No. 6 in the NJCAA national rankings. Once the calendar turned to October, it's been a bit of a rough go for the Dragons. Starting with a 1-1 tie at Barton on October 4, the Blue Dragons are 3-3-1 in their last seven games and are on a two-game losing streak after a pair of one-goal losses to Cloud County that decided the Jayhawk West championship.

Coffeyville enters Saturday's game winners of three straight and 4 of 5. The Ravens went 7-5 in the Jayhawk East to finish third. Against the two teams above them in the Jayhawk East, the Ravens are 0-4 against Johnson County and Butler, but three of those games were one-goal decisions. The only other team to top the Ravens in conference play was Neosho County.

The Blue Dragons are 22-12 all-time in postseason play, including 12-0 in opening-round matches, 9-0 at the Salthawk Sports Complex.

This will be the third postseason meeting between Hutchinson and Coffeyville, the first to be played in Hutchinson.

The Dragons are 2-0 against Coffeyville in the postseason, winning both on Coffeyville's home field. Hutch defeated Coffeyville 2-0 in 2007 on its way to the program's first regional title. In 2013, Jenn Rogers tied the game with 5 minutes remaining in regulation, and then in double overtime made a spectacular run down the sideline on a counter and scored the game-winner with less than 2 minutes to play for a 2-1 Blue Dragon victory.

Hutchinson and Coffeyville play each other for the first time since the Jayhawk Conference split leagues in women's soccer before the 2016 season. Hutch has a 12-2 all-time series advantage over the Ravens.

Brailey Moeder is Hutchinson's top scorer this season with 18 goals and 11 assists (47 points). Sheena Nichol has nine goals and 13 assists (31 points)

In the goal, Clara Bergmuller is 7-1 with a 0.36 goals-against average and .824 save percentage. Ashley Main is 6-2-1 with a 0.92 goals-against average and a .771 save percentage.

Andrea Comper leads Coffeyville in scoring with 14 goals and 12 assist (40 points). She has six game-winning goals. Gabriela Rodrigues has seven goals and four assists. Vanessa Reynoso has five goals and 10 assists.

Brylee Brasher has seen a bulk of the time in goal for Coffeyville. Brasher is 12-4 with a 1.39 goals-against average and .826 save percentage.
