NJCAA DIVISION I WOMEN'S BASKETBALL RANKINGS - WEEK 2

Following two wins at the Cougar Booster Club Classic over the weekend in Great Bend, the Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team moved up to No. 4 in the latest NJCAA Division I national rankings, which were released Monday.

The Blue Dragons, ranked No. 6 last week, edged Division II No. 5 Labette 74-63 and Redlands 64-58 to improve to 6-0 this season. The Dragons were 3-0 over the final week of the non-conference season with a 90-51 win over the Washburn JV.

Trinity Valley took 10 first-place votes and is No. 1 once again at 4-0. Also 4-0 is Northwest Florida State, which is ranked No. 2. Blinn College in third in the poll with Chipola at No. 5, both also 4-0.

From the Jayhawk Conference, Barton is No. 16 after a 6-0 start and two-win weekend in its own classic. Dodge City is 4-1 and is now No. 25 after receiving votes in the last week's rankings.

The Blue Dragons are set to begin conference play 5:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Sports Arena against Independence.
