Hutchinson Community College women's basketball freshman Mya Williams was named the Jayhawk Conference Division I Women's Basketball Player of the Week for the second time this season.

Williams, the Jayhawk Conference's leading scorer, averaged 21 points per game in leading the Blue Dragons to victories over Barton and Cowley last week.

The Waxahachie, Texas, freshman scored 27 points in a key 84-74 road victory on Saturday at Cowley, which tied for her second-highest single-game scoring output of the season. Williams was 6 of 12 shooting with three 3-point goals. She also had a career-high 12 free throws in 15 attempts against the Tigers.

Williams also won Player of the Week honors in Week 5.

This is the fifth time this season that the Blue Dragons have had a player named conference Player of the Week. Sophomore Kalyn Ervin has won the award twice. Last week, sophomore Mele Kailahi was named the league's player of the week.
