Blue Dragon Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team is 3-0 in games following losses this season. The Blue Dragons hope to keep that streak intact on Saturday as the Garden City Broncbusters come to the Sports Arena to complete the first half of Jayhawk Conference play this season.

Tipoff is scheduled for 5:30 p.m.

The Blue Dragons come off a 70-57 loss on Wednesday at Seward County. The Dragons shot only 32.7 percent for the game and committed a season-high 27 turnovers against the Saints. Mya Williams, the Jayhawk Conference's leading scorer, had 20 points and Mele Kailahi had her fourth double-double of the season with 14 points and a career-high 16 rebounds.

In games following losses this season, the Blue Dragons have won all of them by an average of 17.3 points per game.

The Blue Dragons are also 9-0 at the Sports Arena this season. At home this season, the Blue Dragons are averaging 72.9 points per game, while allowing 49.3 points. Hutchinson shoots 43.3 percent overall and 34.2 percent from 3-point range. In going 2-4 in road games this season, the Dragons are averaging 65.8 points offensively and are allowing 66.8 points. The Dragons are shooting 36.8 percent in road games.

Hutchinson takes on Garden City and its KJCCC-leading defense. The Broncbusters (11-4, 6-4) are fresh off a 47-39 home victory on Monday over No. 20 Butler. Garden City held Butler to just 29.3 percent shooting and forced 24 turnovers.

Through 15 games this season, the Broncbusters are allowing opponents just 51.4 points per game. Opposing teams are shooting 34.6 percent overall and just 26.5 percent from 3-point range.

Sophomore guard Kealani Neves is Garden City's top scorer at 14.4 points per game. She shoots 34.2 percent from 3-point range.

The Busters average 58.6 points offensively, shooting 37.4 percent from the floor.
