GARDEN CITY – Only seven players were available for the Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team on Wednesday night at Garden City.

But at one juncture or another, all seven had their say as No. 10 Hutchinson used a big fourth quarter to finally put the Broncbusters away in a 77-62 Jayhawk West victory over the Broncbusters at Conestoga Arena.

Playing its third game in five days, the Blue Dragons improve to 16-2 overall and 8-1 in the Jayhawk West. Hutchinson completes a two-game road swing on Saturday at Pratt in a 5:30 p.m. tipoff. Garden City falls to 6-11, 1-7.

The Blue Dragons had trouble shaking Garden City, mostly in part to an opponent season-high 13 3-pointers against Hutchinson. Ariyanna Hall came off the Broncbuster bench to knock down an opponent-high five 3-pointers and finish with a game-high 26 points.

Hutch led 16-12 after one quarter, 37-30 at halftime and 54-46 after three quarters. The Blue Dragons, keyed by the fourth-quarter play of freshman center, Nafatoumata Haidara, broke the game open with a 13-0 run midway through the period.

Making her first quarter start, Haidara played only 12 minutes over the first three quarters because of four fouls. But in the fourth quarter, Haidara owned the paint scoring nine of her 11 points in the final quarter. Haidara was 5 of 8 shooting and finished with seven rebounds.

Sophomore Abby Ogle led the Blue Dragons with 17 points, eight rebounds and seven assists. Ogle was 6 of 9 shooting from the field and 5 of 6 from the foul line.

Sophomore Makayla Vannett hit a pair of fourth-quarter 3-pointers in the decisive 13-0 run and finished with 14 points. Sophomore Sasha Francis had 13 points and eight rebounds.

Freshman Presley Barton hit three important 3-pointers in the second quarter. Her third 3-pointer gave Hutchinson its 37-30 halftime lead. Freshman Kyra Paniora also finished with nine points.

Sophomore Lauryn Mapusua had four points, but grabbed a game- and career-high 13 rebounds, helping the Dragons to a 44-33 rebounding advantage. Mapusua had four offensive rebounds.

Hutchinson finished the game shooting 26 of 52 (50.0 percent) going 6 of 19 from 3-point range and 19 of 33 from the free-throw line. The Dragons committed 23 turnovers.

Garden City shot 21 of 63 (33.3 percent), hitting 13 of 34 3-pointers and 7 of 9 from the foul line. The Busters had 26 turnovers.

In addition to Hall's big night, Jaleah Bellany had 12 points for Garden City.
