The Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team makes a third road trip in the last seven days on Saturday as the 2019 regular season is in its final two weeks.

The 10th-ranked and travel-weary Blue Dragons make their second-longest road trip of the season on Saturday as Hutchinson meets the Colby Trojans.

Game time at Colby's Community Building is 3 p.m. the game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 2:55 p.m. Daren Dunn (play-by-play) and Glen Grunwald (analysis) will have the call. The Blue Dragon Sports Network will stream the game live beginning at 2:55 p.m.

The Blue Dragons continue to be in a head-to-head battle with Seward County for first place in the Jayhawk West. The No. 10 Blue Dragons and No. 6 Saints are tied atop the league at 17-1 with a 4.5 game lead over third-place Barton. The Blue Dragons close the regular season with Colby and Barton before a road trip to Seward County next Saturday. The Saints close out with Barton, and back-to-back home games against Northwest Tech and Hutchinson.

Hutchinson ranks No. 1 in the Jayhawk Conference in scoring offense (83.8 points per game), field-goal percentage (46.5 percent), assists per game (20.6 per game), scoring defense (50.9) and defensive field-goal percentage (30.9 percent).

The Blue Dragons come off their second-lowest offensive output of the season after defeating Dodge City 59-31 at the Sports Arena. Offensively, the Blue Dragons shot 41.5 percent and committed 19 turnovers. Defensively, the Dragons limited Dodge City to only 18 points through three quarters. The Conquistadors shot only 23.3 percent and turned the ball over 22 times.

Hutchinson takes on a much-improved, but slumping, Colby team, which enters Saturday on an eight-game losing streak. Colby is 8-17 overall and 3-14 and in seventh place in the Jayhawk West. Colby is two games in front of Northwest Tech for the final Region VI Tournament spot out of the Jayhawk West.

The Trojans' upset bid against Seward County on Wednesday came up just a bit short as the Saints prevailed 65-60.

The Blue Dragons had one of their better offensive nights in the first meeting with Colby on Jan. 26 at Colby. Hutchinson shot 52.6 percent and owned a 51-24 rebounding advantage in a 98-59 victory. Jada Mickens scored a game-high 20 points on 10 of 12 shooting. Dejanae Roebuck had 19 points and Milan Schimmel had 10 points.

Colby shot 36.8 percent and had 18 turnovers in the first meeting with Hutchinson. Kaitlyn Guillory had 15 points and Jordan Dixon added 15 to lead the Trojans.

Now alone in fifth place on the Jayhawk Conference and Region VI all-time coaches wins lists with 340 victories, Blue Dragon head coach John Ontjes is just 10 wins away from No. 4 and former Seward County head coach Toby Wynn, who had 349.

Currently No. 13 on the Hutchinson career scoring list with 870 points, Roebuck is just 22 points away from joining the career Top 10. When she reaches the scoring Top 10, Roebuck would become the fifth player in Blue Dragon history to reside in both the scoring and rebounding Top 10s. Roebuck is No. 6 in rebounds with 520.
