One of the perennial powers of the Jayhawk Conference meets one of the 2019 upstarts on Saturday at the Sports Arena.

The No. 4-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team takes on the much-improved Pratt Beavers in a battle of two of the top three teams in the Jayhawk West at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday on the Blue Dragons' home court.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) with Glen Grunwald (play-by-play) and Rusty Hilst (analysis) beginning at 5:25 p.m. The game will be videostreamed on the Blue Dragon Sports Network beginning at 5:25 p.m.

Hutchinson leads the Jayhawk West by 1.5 games over second-place Seward County and has a three-game lead over the much-improved Beavers. The Blue Dragons are 18-0 overall and 9-0 in league play after an 87-56 victory on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.

Pratt is 13-4 overall and 6-3 in the Jayhawk West. The Beavers are playing their second-straight nationally ranked team this week. Pratt lost to No. 11 Seward County 71-68 on Wednesday in Pratt.

With 13 wins already under second-year head coach John Ishee, the Beavers have already made a 10-victory improvement over a 3-26 campaign last season.

Saturday's meeting will be the 88th all-time between Hutchinson and Pratt. The Blue Dragons have a 76-11 all-time record against Pratt with three wins coming last season.

Hutchinson continues to lead the Jayhawk Conference in both scoring offense and scoring defense.

The Dragons are averaging 85.6 points per game and are No. 1 in the KJCCC in field-goal percentage (46.3 percent) and are third in 3-point percentage (32.1 percent). Over the last three games, Hutch has 29 3-pointers shooting 38.2 percent.

Sophomore Dejanae Roebuck is fourth in scoring in the Jayhawk at 15.7 points per game. She is shooting 52.6 percent and is Hutch's leading rebounder with 7.9 boards per game.

Makayla Vannett is averaging 10.6 points and Jada Mickens is averaging 10.4 points. Abby Ogle come off one of her best overall games on Wednesday with 13 points, four rebounds, four assists and five steals. She is averaging 7.7 points, 3.1 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 2.9 steals per game.

The Beavers are averaging 70.7 points offensively shooting 40.0 percent overall and 26.2 percent from 3-point range. Defensively, the Beavers allow 52.1 points with opponents shooting 32.9 percent overall.

Rylee Alexander is Pratt's leading scorer and ninth-leading scorer in the Jayhawk at 13.9 points per game. She is shooting 47.6 percent overall and 44.6 percent from 3-point range.

The Blue Dragons complete a stretch of four games in eight days with Saturday's game against Pratt.
