IOLA – Sophomores Dejanae Roebuck and Tijuana Kimbro each posted double-doubles as the No. 6-ranked Hutchinson Community College women's basketball team rolled to its 15th consecutive victory to start the season on Saturday.

The Blue Dragons reached the 100-point mark for the third time this season in a 102-67 victory over the Allen Red Devils at the ACC Gym.

Hutchinson improves to 15-0 overall and 6-0 in the Jayhawk West. The 15-0 start is the 10th best start to a season in Blue Dragon women's basketball history. Head coach John Ontjes, who coached his 398th game on the Blue Dragon bench on Saturday, has coached 5 of the 10 best starts in team history.

Allen dropped its 13th consecutive game and falls to 2-14 overall.

The Blue Dragons shot 50 percent or better for the fifth time this season hitting 41 of 82 total shots against the Red Devils. The Dragons were 6 of 23 from 3-point range and 14 of 26 from the free-throw line.

Roebuck had her fifth double-double of the season and 19th of her career by halftime. The sophomore forward finished with 13 points and 12 rebounds.

Kimbro recorded her first career double-double with career highs of 13 points and 10 rebounds. This is the third-straight game Kimbro has set or tied her career rebound record.

Sophomore Jada Mickens scored a team-high 15 points on 7 of 8 shooting. She added four rebounds. Freshman Milan Schimmel hit a pair of 3-pointers and scored 11 points. Freshman Makayla Vannett had 10 points with two 3-pointers. Makayla Johnson and Keeley Tini had nine points each and Tia Bradshaw added eight.

Freshman Abby Ogle finished with seven points and she tied a career high with eight assists.

The Blue Dragons grabbed a season-high 59 rebounds and outrebounded Allen 59-22. The Dragons had 28 offensive rebounds.

Allen knocked down an opponent-high 10 3-pointers on 26 attempts against the Blue Dragons. The Red Devils were 22 of 56 overall (39.3 percent) and 13 of 17 from the free-throw line. Allen turned the ball over 21 times.

Gabby Guzman hit 6 of 12 3-pointers and finished with a game-high 22 points. Ariel Walker had 20 points and Jakira Wilson had 10.

The Blue Dragons scored the first eight points of the game, before Allen countered with the next five. Hutch then answered with an 18-5 run to build a 26-10 lead after an Ogle steal and layup with 3:27 to play in the first quarter. The Dragons led 28-19 after one period.

Hutch led 37-27 when a Bradshaw 3-pointer sparked a 12-3 run to close the first half for Hutchinson over the final 2:22 of the period. The Dragons outscored Allen 21-11 in the second quarter to lead 49-30 at halftime.

The Blue Dragons tied a season high for points in the second half with 53 and shot 56.4 percent (22 of 39) in the final two quarters. Hutch outscored Allen 53-37 in the second half, despite the Red Devils hitting eight 3-pointers in the second half.

Hutchinson will be off for a week before returning to the Sports Arena to take on the Cowley Tigers at 5:30 p.m. next Saturday at the Sports Arena.

GAME NOTES – The Blue Dragons are now 29-3 overall against Allen, including 9-0 in games played at Iola. … The Dragons are 6-0 in true road games this season. … This was the second time in series history that Hutch scored 100 or more points against Allen and is the second-most points scored against the Red Devils. … The Blue Dragons owned a 66-16 advantage in points in the paint, a 25-10 advantage in points off turnovers, 36-2 in second-chance points and 49-7 in points off the bench.
