The two hottest teams in Jayhawk Conference women's basketball meets for the second time this season on Wednesday at the Sports Arena.

The No. 18-ranked Hutchinson Community College women plays host to No. 13 Seward County at 5:30 p.m. This will be the 10th time in the last 11 meetings that both Hutchinson and Seward County are nationally ranked when playing each other.

The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) beginning at 5:20 p.m. with Glen Grunwald (play by play) and Rusty Hilst (analysis) calling the action. The game will also be videostreamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 5:20 p.m.

Hutchinson and Seward County are 2 of the 3 teams tied for first place in the Jayhawk Conference, along with Cowley. All three teams are 15-2 overall and 11-2 in league play.

The Blue Dragons are riding 13-game winning streak dating back to November 18. Seward County is currently on an eight-game winning streak.

With Wednesday marking the start of the second half of the Jayhawk Conference season, the Blue Dragons are trying to even the season series with the Saints. Seward County defeated Hutchinson 60-47 on November 11 in Liberal. The Dragons went on to lose their first two Jayhawk games before reeling off 11 straight wins against conference teams.

In that first meeting, the Blue Dragons shot 42.9 percent but couldn't overcome a season-high 34 turnovers. Seward County took advantage of those turnovers by outscoring Hutch 37-17 in points off turnovers.

Dejanae Roebuck had 15 points in the first game against the Saints to lead Hutchinson Mollie Mounsey had 15 points to lead Seward County.

Now 8-0 at the Sports Arena this season, the Blue Dragons are averaging 69.5 points per game offensively and 53.2 points defensively. The Dragons are shooting 40.6 percent overall and 31.5 percent from 3-point range. Jada Mickens leads the Dragons at 15.4 points per game and leads the Jayhawk with 10.5 rebounds per game.

Seward County comes in as the top scoring team in the Jayhawk Conference at 80.5 points per game. The Saints are also No. 1 in the KJCCC in field goal percentage (46.4 percent) and is second in 3-point shooting (33.9 percent). Seward is tops in the league with 10.1 made 3-pointers per game. Defensively, Seward County is allowing 54.9 percent with opponents shooting 33.0 percent overall and 24.7 percent from distance,

Sophomore guard Mollie Mounsey, who enters play with 190 career 3-pointers and just joined Seward County's 1,000-point club, is second in the Jayhawk in scoring at 19.6 points per game.
