The No. 12-ranked Hutchinson Community College Women's Basketball team goes after a fifth-straight victory as the Blue Dragons open a two-game Jayhawk Conference road swing on Saturday at Garden City.

The Blue Dragons and Broncbusters will tip off at 6 p.m. on Saturday at the newly refurbished Conestoga Arena in Garden City. The game will be broadcast live on Blue Dragon flagship station KHUT-FM (102.9) and on sister stations KWBW-AM/FM (1450/98.5) with Glen Grunwald calling the action at 5:50 p.m. The game will also be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network at 5:50 p.m.

With very little returning experience returning for the 2017-18 season, the Blue Dragons continue to steadily improve in all facets of the game. Over their four-game winning streak, offensively, the Dragons have averaged 73.0 points offensively and are allowing 48.0 points defensively. The Dragons are also averaging 50.8 rebounds in the winning streak.

For the season, the Blue Dragons are second in the Jayhawk Conference in rebounding at 45.2 rebounds per game. Jada Mickens is second in the conference in individual rebounding at 10.3 boards per game. Dejanae Mickens is third in the league at 9.9 rebounds per game.

Also allowing 50.2 points per game, the Dragons also rank second in the Jayhawk Conference in scoring defense.

The Blue Dragons (6-2, 4-2) come off a season-high offensive effort in a 90-46 victory over Colby. Alicia Brown, who is averaging 20 points per game in her last two outings, posted a career-high 21 points against the Trojans.

Garden City (5-4, 3-3) defeated Dodge City 66-57 on Wednesday night. The Busters outscored the Conquistadors 25-11 in the third quarter led by the 12-point, 17-rebound effort of Jaz'Monique Johnson.

The Busters are averaging 56.9 points per game while shooting 35.6 percent and 24.0 percent from 3-point range.

No Garden City player averages in double figures, but seven players average between 6.0 and 9.6 points per game. Abigail Green is Garden's top scorer at 9.6 rebounds per contest. Talia Roberts is at 9.1 points per game and shootings 31 percent with a team-high 13 3-pointers. Johnson shoots 55.3 percent from the field and averages 8.4 points and 5.8 rebounds per game.

After Garden City on Saturday, the Dragons travel to Butler on Wednesday before closing the pre-Christmas schedule at home on December 9 against Barton.
