Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Closing the regular season on a 12-game winning streak and clinching the Jayhawk Conference championship, the Hutchinson Community College softball team remained No. 14 in the NJCAA Division I rankings, released on Monday afternoon.

The Blue Dragons (41-6) swept Seward County and Pratt in the final two regular-season games of the regular season last week, winning all four games by run-rule.

Hutchinson earned the No. 1 seed for the Region VI Tournament, and will open the tournament at 1 p.m. on Friday against the Pratt Beavers.

The Blue Dragons have been ranked in 13 consecutive polls dating back to the final three polls of the 2022 season. That's the longest consecutive run in the national rankings since 2017 and 2018.

The top six teams from last week remained in the same spot as last week with Odessa remaining No. 1 with all eight first-place votes.

Hutchinson and Butler remained the only two Jayhawk Conference teams ranked in the poll. Butler is No. 15 in this week's poll.
