Hutchinson CC Sports Information

The Hutchinson Community College Softball team hopes to take lessons learned from a frigid day in Enid, Oklahoma, last week and use them Wednesday in the Blue Dragons' 2019 home opener.

The 0-1 Blue Dragons will play host to Cloud County in a 2 p.m. doubleheader on Wednesday at Fun Valley.

Both games will be streamed live on the Blue Dragon Sports Network beginning at 2 p.m. Updates can also be found on the Blue Dragon Twitter page (@bluedragonsport).

The Blue Dragons dropped their season opener 11-4 at Northern Oklahoma-Enid on February 5. The Dragons were limited to five hits, but three game from sophomore Brynne Stockman, who had a double and home run.

Stockman also homered in Game 2. The Blue Dragons trailed 13-12 after 3 1/2 innings when darkness suspended the game. The Blue Dragons and Jets will complete that suspended game on Monday, February 25.

Cloud County will be playing its first games of the season. The Thunderbirds were 21-22 last season.

Hutchinson and Cloud County split a doubleheader on March 8 last season. The Dragons won 9-1 and then dropped the second game 6-2.

After Wednesday, the Blue Dragons won't be back at Fun Valley until March 2 when Butler comes Hutchinson to open Jayhawk Conference play.

The Fun Valley Sports Complex is under renovation. There are certain areas of the complex that will be off limits to the public.
