ENID, Okla. – Brynne Stockman had three hits, including a home run, but the Hutchinson Community College softball team couldn't contain Northern Oklahoma College-Enid's offense and dropped its 2019 season opener on Tuesday.

Hutchinson had an early lead, but NOC-Enid scored 10 runs in its final three at-bats and defeated the Blue Dragons 11-4.

The second game was suspended in the four innings because of darkness with the Jets leading the Blue Dragons 13-12. No date has been selected for the resumption of Game 2.

Stockman and freshman Taylor Ullery both homered in the first game. Stockman's solo homer in the top of the fifth gave the blue Dragons a 5-4 lead.

But NOC-Enid, who is coached by former Hutchinson assistant Jana Williams, scored four runs in each the fifth and sixth innings to take charge of the game.

Stockman reached base in all four plate appearances with three hits, including a double and home run, to lead Hutchinson offensively. Ullery and Aubrey Peck had the only other hits in the game.

Peck's hit was a two-run single in the top of the first inning. Ullery's hit was a one-out solo home run in the third.

Jets' pitcher Lindsi Spring threw a complete game with 13 strikeouts. She allowed five hits, two earned runs and four walks.
