With the softball realignment from last season, the Division I KJCCC will be split into two five-team divisions. The East Division will be made up of Hutchinson, Butler, Barton, Pratt and Independence. The West Division will be Colby, Dodge City, Garden City, Northwest Tech and Seward County. Teams will play their own division in home-and-home doubleheaders, while playing the other division once.

In a poll of the league's head coaches, the predicted order of finish in the Jayhawk East was Butler, Barton, Hutchinson, Independence and Pratt.

The Jayhawk West order sees Seward County picked first, followed by Colby, Dodge City, Garden City and Northwest Tech.

The Blue Dragons return seven total players from last season – outfielder/Utility player Brynne Stockman, infielder Kiara DeCrane, infielder Shelby Felvus, utility player Cassidy Prucha and outfielder Brooke Jamison, pitcher Megan Davis.

The 2019 Blue Dragons will have to replace nearly 85 percent of their offense and two-year starting pitcher D.J. Cannon.

The Blue Dragons have great momentum going into 2019 with three-straight 30-win seasons and 107 total victories in that span.

Hutchinson will open the 2019 season on Friday, February 8 at Northern Oklahoma-Enid and open at home on Wednesday, February 13 against Cloud County at Fun Valley.
