Bre Johnson and Kiara DeCrane had four RBIs each on Wednesday as the Hutchinson Community College softball team earned a sweep of the Tabor College Junior Varsity at Fun Valley.

The Blue Dragons pulled away late in Game 1, breaking things open with an Izzy Godinez two-out, two-run double in the fifth inning followed by a four-run sixth inning in an 11-3 victory. The Dragons scored nine runs in the first two innings of the second game and rolled to an 11-1 win in five innings.

The Blue Dragons reached two 20-victory plateau for the 12th time in 14 seasons, and are 21-5 after Wednesday's victories.

GAME 1 RECAP
D.J. Cannon's two-run home run helped the Blue Dragons build a 5-1 lead after three innings. But the Bluejays chipped away and pulled within 5-3 heading to the bottom of the fifth.

After a single to Johnson and walk to Cassidy Prucha with two out, Godinez lined a two-out, two-run double to the centerfield wall to build a 7-3 lead after five innings. Hutchinson then finished off the Bluejays with four runs in the sixth. Godinez laced a single through the right side of the infield to score pinch-runner Brooke Jamison with the game-ending run.

Four players had two hits in the opener, led by Godinez, who went 2 for 5 with a double and three RBIs. Cannon was 2 for 3 with her third home run of the season with two runs scored and two RBIs. Kiara DeCrane was 2 for 3 with three runs and an RBI. Brynne Stockman was 2 for 3 with an RBI triple and two runs. Johnson added two RBIs.

Cannon improved to 11-2 and earned her 29th career victory with her 10th complete game of the season. She allowed three hits, three runs and two earned runs while striking out seven and walking two.

The Blue Dragons were 9 for 9 in stolen bases.

GAME 2 RECAP
The Blue Dragons scored 11 runs in their first three at-bats to take control of the second game early.

Cannon extended her hitting streak to nine-straight games with a two-run doubles in a four-run first inning. Pope had the first of her two doubles, driving in two runs in in a five-run second inning. Pope delivered again in the third with an RBI double.

The Dragons had 11 hits for the second-straight game and extended their winning streak to four games in a row.

Pope was 3 for 3 with two doubles and three RBIs to lead Hutchinson offensively. DeCrane went 2 for 2 with three RBIs.

Johnson had a season-high two hits in three at-bats with two RBIs. Roberts scored three runs.

The Blue Dragons stole four more bases.

Three Blue Dragon pitchers combined to allow just three hits.

Destiny Schultz worked 2 1-3 innings and allowed two hits and no runs with two strikeouts. Megan Davis retired all six batters she faced. Prucha worked two-thirds of an inning.

The Blue Dragons travel to Independence on Tuesday.
