Hutchinson Community College freshman third baseman Kiara DeCrane's spectacular collegiate debut earned her the Jayhawk East Softball Player of the Week award this week.
The freshman from Bartlesville, Oklahoma, homered in her first career at-bat as a Blue Dragon in a 16-1 victory over Pratt in the 2018 season over last Thursday at Fun Valley. Her second and third career at-bats were just as productive with a pair of two-run singles. DeCrane finished the game 3 for 4 with six RBIs.
For the doubleheader, DeCrane went 5 for 7 with a double, home run and eight RBIs with four runs scored.
DeCrane is now eligible for NJCAA Division II National Player of the Week honors.
