DARRAH EARNS FIRST CAREER TOP 10 FINISH

JOPLIN, Missouri – Sophomore Christian Darrah continued his strong start to 2023 on Friday with a ninth-place finish at the Missouri Southern Stampede.

Running his first 8,000-meter race of the season, Darrah posted a career-best time of 28 minute, 9.20 seconds earn a first career Top 10 finish to lead the Blue Dragons.

The Blue Dragon men didn't post a team score on Friday with only two runners posting times.

Darrah's previous best career 8K time was 28:10.01 set at the 2022 Region VI Cross Country Championships. His previous highest finish was 22nd at the 2022 Ollie Isom Invitational

Darrah was the third-highest Jayhawk Conference finisher at the MSSU Stampede. Butler's Adem Bouldjadj won the individual title with a time of 25:50.45. Butler's Soualah Yasser was eighth in 28:03.95.

Blue Dragon freshman David Ultreras was the other Blue Dragon to finish on Friday. He placed 31st in a time of 29:25.16.

The Blue Dragons next run at the Chili Pepper Festival on Friday, September 29 in Fayetteville, Arkansas.
