Since 2009, Hutchinson Community College has served as the host for the NJCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships eight times, albeit the 2020 Championships were canceled because of the Coronavirus pandemic.
The South Plains College men must like Gowans Stadium as the Texans have won the team national championship in each of the previous six times the championships have been in Hutchinson.
For Blue Dragon fans, the 2013 championships at Gowans Stadium were perhaps the most memorable as the Blue Dragon men finished fourth in a powerhouse field. The Blue Dragons were led by Skylar Arneson's national championship in the mens hammer and third-place finish in the shot put.
