BLUE DRAGONS TAKE 32 QUALIFIERS TO NJCAA INDOOR NATIONALS

Hutchinson CC Sports Information

Coming off their best-ever performances in the Region 6 Indoor championships two weeks ago, the Hutchinson Community College men's and women's track and field teams now take aim at the 2025 NJCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships, which begin Friday at Texas Tech University.

The 2025 Region 6 champion Blue Dragon men have 10 athletes competing in 18 individual events beginning on Friday. The Blue Dragon women, who finished third at the Region 6 championship have nine athletes competing in 14 different events.

The Blue Dragon distance runners will see plenty of action over the two-day run of the indoor championships at the Texas Tech Sports Performance Center.

Sophomore Farrin Mangelson is scheduled to compete in three events – the Mile run, 3,000-meter and 5,000 meters. Mangelson is the Blue Dragon indoor record holder in the 3,000 (8:19.75) and 5,000 (14:35.35) and is 10th in Dragon history in the indoor Mile (4:19.62). Mangelson qualified in the 3,000 and 5,000 meters and received a while-card invitation in the Mile.

The women will be led by sophomore Jordyn Picolet, who will compete in three events – 3,000 meters, 5,000 meters and Mile run). Like Mangelson, Picolet owns Blue Dragon indoor school records in the 3,000 (10:19.29) and 5,000 (18:06.64).
