TOPEKA – Freshman Da'Shawn Lester led the Hutchinson Community College men's track and field team on Friday during Day 1 of the Ichabod Invitational with an individual event victory.

Lester won the 600-yard run with a time of 1:12.19 to lead a handful of players on Friday. Sophomore Elisha Williams placed 11th in the event with a time of 1:14.08.

Sophomore D'Antonio Warren placed 15th in the 200-meter preliminaries with a time of 21.94 seconds.

Freshman Richard Collins placed 16th in the high jump after clearing 6-0 1/2 (1.84 meters).

Sophomore David Ultreras placed 18th in the 5,000-meter finals with a time of 15:52.68.

Freshman Malique Parkinson was 21st in the long jump after a best jump of 23-3 1/2 (6.79 meters).

Freshman Karson Engelland finished 23rd in the shot put at 44-4 (13.51 meters). Grade Bare was 24th at 44-0 (13.41 meters)

Day 2 of the Ichabod Invitational starts on the track at 10 a.m. on Saturday with field events beginning at 10:30 a.m.
